ABOUT

Breaking Barriers. Building Community.
SOMOS Latina Lawyers (“Somos”) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit creating OPPORTUNITY, INSPIRATION, and COMMUNITY for Latinas in the legal profession. We believe every aspiring, emerging, and established Latina lawyer deserves support, visibility, and the tools to thrive.
Why We Exist
Latina lawyers are the most underrepresented group of attorneys in the U.S. compared to our presence in the population. SOMOS is here to change that.
We Are Guided By
Representation & Visibility – Latinas belong everywhere decisions are made.
Community & Mentorship – lifting each other as we rise.
Cultural Competence & Belonging – embracing identity, fostering inclusion.
Empowerment & Access – opening doors and creating pathways to success.
What We Do
Our signature program, the annual SOMOS Latina Lawyers Symposium, offers CLE, mentorship, and networking. Past keynote speakers include:
Judge Irma Carrillo Ramirez, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit
Tricia Montalvo Timm, attorney turned tech executive, investor & author
Judge Esther Salas, U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey
These trailblazers exemplify the power of Latina leadership in law—and beyond.
How You Can Help
SOMOS can’t do this alone. Join us as a volunteer, sponsor, or donor to strengthen OPPORTUNITY, INSPIRATION, and COMMUNITY for Latina lawyers everywhere.
Together, we’ll flourish.
